Hi Landcarers
The Organising Committee for the 2021 NSW Rural Women’s Gathering in Forbes are welcoming Expressions of Interest from locals to be involved.
With now a year ahead of our re-scheduled Gathering, the Committee are taking a fresh look at delivery of the event, due to COVID-19. This also provides us with a bit of scope to look at events and inclusions and perhaps re-evaluate what is important to Rural Women in NSW after for many there is a change in conditions on the land and moving forward, looking at what things really matter to us and will enable us to be the best we can be moving forward.
The Gathering Committee have put together this expression of interest to increase Committee capacity, increase options for delivery of workshops, with the opportunity for involvement in sub-committees. We are also keen to hear if you are interested in being involved in the actual running of the event.
Note that these are all voluntary positions. We are working together to bring women (and men) from across the state to Forbes and surrounds to learn and share….and enjoy being in Central NSW.
Many women and partners take the opportunity as part of the Gathering to include a holiday in their trip and we also provide a Partners Program, which is being headed up by one of our fabulous local fellows. Included in that program will be a trip to the Australian National Field Days amongst other activities. We are thrilled to be once again working in with the Field Day dates for 2021.
Coinciding with the 2020 dates that the NSW Rural Women’s Gathering was originally set for, we will be doing a special social media campaign featuring some of our local lovelies and also some of our leaders and groups who make the Gathering an annual event. Many of these ladies had already booked travel and accommodation pre-covid.
If you are interested in being involved, you can find the survey on our Landcare social media or on the Gathering Facebook and Instagram pages at @nswrwg2021forbes or phone me on 0418 611 053. In the months ahead we will also be re-releasing our sponsorship opportunities for the Gathering. It sounds a bit exhausting to be even thinking about it a year out, but we are striving for an AMAZING Gathering. To access the EOI Form, click here.
