Landcare is a national movement with a local focus. It is a partnership between the rural and urban communities, industry and government to promote the sustainable use of land, water and living natural resources for the benefit of the Nation.

Landcare in Central West Lachlan area is about the community, businesses, schools, local industry, people within townships and farm families working together to effectively use and manage natural resources within the overall goal of promoting and enhancing a sustainable and productive environment.

There are currently 24 Landcare Group areas. The boundaries for our area are centred around Peak Hill to the north, Forbes to the south, the Bumberry ranges to the east and Yarrabandai to the west. The Central West Lachlan area crosses two catchments, namely the Lachlan and Central West and covers an area approximately 720,000 hectares.
