Looking at Landcare (27/3/2020) – Tree Project EOI Extended

Hi Landcarer’s

One week on from my last article and how different our circumstances are once again.

I am pleased to say that we have extended the Expression of Interest timeframe for our Landcare Tree Project and we will be accepting EOI until Tuesday, 31 March. Find your EOI here.

This project is to assist with replacement of lost trees and shrubs during the drought, which we know has been a significant problem with unprecedented conditions, or an opportunity to extend or establish a new line.

Thanks to Landcare Australia and Inland Rail, we are providing Landholder Landcare Members up to 80 native tubestock and guards. To obtain an Expression of Interest, go to our website and the EOI are on the Home Page. Our membership link is there too.

Obviously, due to the drought conditions, there may be limited supply of some species, but we will certainly do our best to provide what we can. I promise to keep my distance during handover.

Being a Not-for-profit organisation, Central West Lachlan Landcare have had to adapt to the changing conditions with the COVID-19 warnings, therefore, I won’t be as available as I normally am. The best way to contact us is via email at cwllpo@hotmail.com and we will do our best to get back to you within the week.

This will end one day and on the other side I hope that we are stronger people, who appreciate more of what we have, want less ‘stuff’, give back more to our communities, volunteer and not expect an award, have a deeper understanding of grace and how we can show it. I hope we will set our standards higher, be better teachers, be better listeners, be better encouragers.

I hope people cook more home-made food. I hope people enjoy eating at a restaurant and not take food and the work that goes into preparing it for granted. I look forward to enjoying catching up with friends. I look forward to seeing our communities thriving again. I hope we all appreciate what a privilege it is to live in this country and be good stewards of what we have.

Remember that Georgie’s Pantry is open on Thursday’s between 10am and 3pm via Currajong Street, Parkes.
