A big thank you to the beautiful people that joined us on Saturday for the Pink Up Parkes Walk and Wellness Morning!

We pretty much couldn’t have asked for a more gorgeous morning after the rain in town on Friday.

It was wonderful to see whole families walking, ranging from gorgeous little people in prams to a senior member of our community, who kept in stride with everyone!

Thank you to our sponsors, InLink and Edge Consulting for their contribution. Everyone was very happy to be rewarded with a delicious bacon and egg role for brekky and/or beautiful granola, yoghurt and fruit with Sweet Nourishment spoiling us with their beautiful granola.

Jenz Yogalates relocated to the Masonic Hall (at late notice) when we received Friday’s rain and all of the attendees emerged refreshed ready for the walk.

Once we had consumed and talked, Jess and Janette from Kerin Physio Co spoke about body strength and recovery and Elsie and Michael taught a few lessons on propagation. Thank you to these amazing people for giving up their time on the morning and thanks to Parkes Shire Council for partnering with us.

Of course, we were doing this all to raise awareness for the McGrath Foundation Breast Care Nurses. This brings me to an important function that is being held on Sunday evening at the Parkes Services Club….the Pink Up Parkes Charity Dinner!

We have been very fortunate to have been given extremely generous donations by our community to auction and raffle to raise funds for the McGrath Foundation. During the Dinner we will be auctioning items with the assistance of Geoff Rice and Langlands Hanlon.

These items will be listed on our Pink Up Parkes Facebook site over the next two days and you can bid ahead of the evening. We have some fabulous goodies to share! We are asking people to email with their bids if you can’t join us on the evening. Full details will be on facebook with each item, so just follow the instructions.

The good news is that we will have Eftpos available on the evening and for bidders who aren’t able to join us on the evening, you can pay directly at Langlands Hanlon. A big thank you to Geoff and Renee for their assistance and thanks for your support Parkes!
