Hi Landcarer’s
Finally! The Forbes Committee of the NSW Rural Women’s Gathering are pleased to announce that our registrations are going online on Friday, 28 January 2022.
It has been a long time coming! The first members of the Committee initiated the submission to host the Gathering in Forbes in March 2019 with the intention of hosting the Gathering in 2020.
With two Covid outbreaks postponing our event, we are so thrilled to be so close to actually hosting rural women and their partners from across NSW in Forbes between 1 – 3 April 2022.
Our fabulous Committee have stuck in there with us. Each Gathering reflects the unique culture, industry, tourism and environment of the host community.
Women’s Gatherings are for all rural women including: farming women; Aboriginal women; women from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds; mining women; women in the fishing industry; women who live in regional cities, towns and villages; and coastal women.
Gatherings are a well established annual statewide community event for all rural women.
As well as the rural women’s program, weare also running a partners program which provides some wonderful opportunities for partners to get out and enjoy some of the sites and experiences that Forbes has to offer.
The Gathering is an opportunity for women of all ages to participate in workshops, listen to inspirational speakers and leave refreshed. Our speakers include Jean Kitson, Gabbi Hollows and Melinda Schneider! We are so thrilled to have these wonderful women sharing with us over the weekend.
There are still a few sponsorship opportunities available if you are interested. Links can be found on our website at www.forbes2021nswruralwomensgathering.com (yes, it is still listed as 2021, we just can’t change things again!
Research by Social Ventures Australia found that Rural Women’s Gatherings aren’t only great for rural women they are also great for rural economies. The research found that the 2014 Rural Women’s Gathering in Coolamon injected over $230,000 into the local economy and that for every dollar invested in the event approximately $2.20 of social and economic value was created and rural women felt more connected, inspired and empowered.
We are looking forward to showcasing Forbes and surrounding areas during the three days of the Gathering.
