Looking At Landcare (13/12/2019) – Rounding up in 2019

Hi Landcarer’s

As with many things at this time of the year, I am trying to cover off on several things in the one article leading into the Christmas period.

It has been a pleasure to be part of several Ag & Chat events over the past week. I tell you what….the morning teas have really tested my resilience!

A big thanks to the Rural Adversity Mental Health Program for bringing these events together in our local area. Bogan Gate is hosting the remaining morning tea on Friday, 13 December, commencing at 10am in the Hall.

These events are an opportunity to catch up with others in the community at a free event, with morning tea and a guest speaker.

Friday, 13 December is also the closing date for applications to the Central West Local Land Services Board. There are three board member positions and one chair position that are being sought. People submitting applications should have a good understanding of local needs and are the voice of the communities and landholders their represent. For further information, you can refer to the Local Land Services website or links will be in our blog.

The final Central West Lachlan Landcare meeting will be held on Wednesday, 18 December at the Forbes Services Club from 6pm. We are looking forward to taking the opportunity to review our past year and flag some up our upcoming events in 2020.

We will also take the opportunity while we are together to have dinner together at the Club. If you would like to join us for the meeting and dinner, please RSVP to me on 0418 611 053 or email cwllpo@hotmail.com

Last but not least, as mentioned last week, both Parkes and Forbes drumMusters will be held on Friday, 13 December.

Parkes Waste Depot on Friday, 13 December from 9am. Please make sure that you book in by texting me on 0418 611 053 or email me at cwllpo@hotmail.com. We have a few significant loads booked in already so if you book in, we are able to mitigate waiting times to keep things moving. Keep an eye on our facebook page for upcoming collections in the Parkes Shire.

Forbes drumMUSTER will operate between 9am and 12pm. For further information and for bookings, please contact 02 6852 1488. Forbes collections will resume on Friday, 14 February 2020.
