We are pleased to be holding the last drumMUSTER for 2018 at the Parkes Waste Depot on Friday, 9 December between 9am and 12pm.

Bookings are essential to allow for large loads and provide a smooth drop off for all attendees. Only dry, triple-rinsed, eligible containers can be brought to the DrumMUSTER depot. It was a pleasure to be part of the Materclass in Strategic Planning and Masterclass in Advanced Strategy, Risk and Governance last week at Forbes with Steven Bowman.

The workshops hosted by the Central West Local Land Services, provided strategies and tactics for non-profit executives and board members and provided insight into developing a short, sharp and surprisingly, strategic…strategic plan.

For anyone who has been through the strategic planning process, you would know that it can provide many benefits if the plan is concise and providing operational guidance for your organisation, but when you have a plan that you spend many hours developing and your facilitator leads you up a garden path with no visible return from the land of impossible targets and lead to much disappointment down the track when trying to justify the reason for the plan.

It was great to have so many people attending with a rural connection and good to recognise National Ag Day during the workshop (pic on Instagram, facebook and twitter).

Also in Forbes this week it was a pleasure to meet and catch up with a team of people who will be working to bring together the Bundaburrah Creek Dabu yarra muran Project. We are pleased to be partnering with some talented people to deliver the project which will not only provide revegetation, but workshops to promote traditional Wiradjuri practices.

This project is just in its initial stages and I look forward to sharing more information once the final paperwork is completed.

Lastly, but not least, the National Parks Association Lachlan Valley Branch are holding their Christmas gathering this Sunday, 2 December, between 5pm – 7pm. This being their final event for the year, I would like to take the opportunity to express what a delight it is to work with and learn from the NPA group. We are so fortunate to have such a passionate, active, knowledgeable group in our area.
