Our stallholder applications are open for Homegrown Parkes on Saturday, 12 October.
We already have 20 stallholders booked in. I have been busy catching up with some of the stalls that people have requested and our stallholders that have supported the community over the past three events.
Remember, Homegrown Parkes is not just for established market stall holders, this event has kicked off stalls for some local people and we want to continue supporting locals.
We can’t wait to start sharing them with you!
The Expression of Interest form is accessible via our social media or Homegrown Parkes page.
We provide as many activities as possible free to the community at Homegrown Parkes because we don’t want any barriers to learning. There are pressures on our households and we want people to learn how they can be producing and processing at home to help cut some of these costs….and of course, we want to share some cool, niche demonstrations as well.
We were thrilled to have attendees at our March demonstrations and workshops from all age groups with over 90 people attending these educational events in the Pavilion.
A massive thank you to the Parkes RFS and Parkes SES for sharing ideas and information that may assist us in preparing or dealing with an natural disaster event. It was wonderful to have the two emergency service providers with us on the day as well.
We welcomed back Bill Tink from Netwaste, who provided a follow up presentation to our October 2023 event, on recycling.
Phil and Nadia Donato not only showed us how to make pasta from scratch, but also provided workshop attendees with some beautiful pasta that had been made before the event. This was a total treat!
We finished off the day with a presentation from Sally Bourne, who was an absolute delight and provided many options for planting, landscape design and landscape management to address some of the extremes in weather conditions that we face in the Central West.
After this and previous fabulous lineups of demonstrations last year, we want to keep the bar high and are looking forward to sharing our educational options for the next event.
Of course, Crop Swap will continue to be a huge part of Homegrown Parkes….and I have a fresh vegetable stallholder surprise that I can’t wait to share with you.
