Hi Landcarer’s
Homegrown Parkes Stallholder registrations are now open!
In March, we were thrilled with the response from Stallholders and Food Vendors for Homegrown Parkes.
This event is an opportunity for local and regional businesses who are processing, repurposing, sewing, propagating or producing fabulous local products to share their skill and products with the community.
I would encourage potential stallholders to submit an application early. They are already trickling in on day one of being open. You can find the link to the registration via our facebook page or on our website.
Applications are reviewed by our Homegrown Parkes Committee to ensure that they fit with the ethos of Homegrown Parkes. We welcome stalls from our local area.
All stallholders and food vendors are required to provide $20 million insurance Certificate of Currency and additionally, food vendors need to supply their Food Safety Certificate.
The Committee made the decision to place a small fee on stallholders for our October event. We want to keep the event as accessible as possible, particularly for small stallholders. The fee of $25 will assist with covering the costs to sustain the event.
Register as a stallholder here.
Demonstrations will be one of the highlights of the next event on Saturday, 21 October. These demonstrations will highlight processes for using locally produced food and products with the aim of encouraging locals to have a go and grow in their own backyard. When you grow….you have to know what to do with your produce!
We want to keep these demonstrations (as opposed to workshops) as short, informative and entertaining as possible, so if there is a demonstration that you would like to see, let us know. We have already received some fantastic suggestions.
A large part of the engagement for the March event was entertainment, particularly for children. We are grateful to CMOC-NorthParkes, who through their Community Investment Program, have provided funds to assist in delivering free activities for children at the next event. We want kids in this Homegrown space!
The Homegrown Parkes Committee, made up of members of Central West Lachlan Landcare, Parkes Community Arts and Parkes Shire Council contributors, are looking forward to delivering another fabulous, encouraging and inspirational event and we thank the community for their amazing feedback. Sadly Costa can’t be at every event…but, we have some exciting plans for the future.
